One woman in Britain has made legal history – for being the first person ever to be imprisoned for having noisy sex. The 48-year-old woman from Tyne and Wear, in the north of England, gained the dubious honour of being jailed for her loud sexual activities after breaking an anti-social behaviour order, or ASBO. She apparently enjoyed indulging in lengthy three hour sex sessions in the privacy of her own home, with her husband, which neighbours claimed were noisy and disturbing. Early risers - in all departmentsShe gained the ASBO after her neighbours made 250 complaints about the amount of sexual moaning and other loud noises she produced whilst having sex with her husband. Her neighbours complained about the noise of moaning, groaning, shouting, screaming in ecstacy and the sound of a bed banging against the wall, which typically occurred in the early mornings. Is it usual for ASBOs to be given for sex?Normally ASBOs are reserved for anti-social behaviour such as playing loud music or causing a disturbance in certain areas, so it’s pretty unusual for one to be given for having sex at home. After all, a lot of people do make noises – often without realising it - whilst enjoying sex.According to the rules of the sex ASBO given to her, she should have avoiding ‘making excessive noise’ anywhere in England for four years. Ooooh, yes, yes, YES!However, the rules of the ASBO didn’t put her off, and less than two days after it was made, she broke it in style with more full on and noisy sex. After being arrested on three occasions over a period of 10 days, she was finally jailed for breaking her sexual noise ASBO. It’s normal and natural for some noise to be involved when you’re having sex, and can it make the whole process a lot more exciting for both partners. It’s no wonder the neighbours didn’t enjoy the act quite so much, especially since they tended to perform in the early hours of the morning, but it must be tricky to determine the exact level involved in disturbing sexual cries and screams. So, how noisy do you get when you’re having sex? And could you be at risk from a sexual ASBO for the noise you make? Post a comment
