If you want to treat your partner to some lingerie, but can’t afford to splash out on a whole set, then buying some gorgeous lacy underwear is a great alternative. Many ranges are inexpensive, but create lasting memories (for both of you!) and there’s a wide range of options to choose from.
Getting to Know the Styles
With numerous styles available these days, such as high legs, tangas, thongs, low rise and shorts, it’s a good idea to try and suss out in advance what is likely to appeal to her. There’s no point in you plumping for some sexy little shorts, and then discovering she hates the fit of them. So have a rummage in her undies drawer (when she’s not around, of course) or have some long lingering glances as you undress her, and take careful note of the style she likes.
Online stores are great for getting a real feel of what each different style is like. You can view the shape, the way they fit over the legs, how high they come up or how they look on the bum.
Give It Some Thought
Although you may adore the look and feel of a thong or G-string, not all women love wearing them every day, so do try and think practically if you’re buying something you’d like her to wear often. There’s no point in her being disastrously uncomfortable! It’s also worth giving the colour careful thought two. Red may seem bright and cheerful to you, but could it come across as garish? And what happens if she wears lots of light coloured clothing? Red underwear just isn’t practical all of the time, but for a fun, light-hearted gift – and perhaps something for your eyes only – then it may be ideal!
If you’re choosing knickers to match a bra or set, perhaps something she has already, then often they’re available in several different styles, so you could always hedge your bets and buy two pairs in different styles. That way, there’s double the chance of her loving at least one pair of them.
Choosing Fabric
The fabric you choose is just as important as the style. Knickers come in all types of fabric these days, from cotton and lace, to stretchy nylon and lycra, to silk and satin. For the more adventurous, there’s even leather and PVC.
Again, you can get a good feel of the type and look of the fabric by browsing an online store. Most listings will tell you what fabric it’s made of, but if you’re unsure, you can always email and ask. Although PVC and leather may not be practical for every day where, there’s something highly indulgent about wearing silk knickers – or even of knowing your partner’s got them on.
Great lingerie is fantastic for the receiver to wear, but it’s also highly enjoyable for both partners. So, why not indulge yourselves now and again with some great new lingerie bottoms and add a bit of a kick to your love life?
